Step-by-step setup
Learn what each value is for
The address says which machine holds your line. The username identifies your account on that machine. The password proves the account is yours. That is all of it — no portal, no email confirmation, no second factor. Which is precisely why those three together are the subscription, and why handing them outside the household is handing over the subscription rather than sharing it.
Find the option under whatever name your player uses
Smarters: Login with Xtream Codes API. TiViMate: Xtream Codes login. Others shorten it to Xtream or simply API. Wherever a player offers this alongside a playlist field, take this one — it brings the guide and the catalogue with it and the playlist route frequently brings neither.
Understand what each value actually does
The server address says which machine holds your line. The username identifies the account on it. The password proves it is yours. There is no account portal, no email confirmation and no second factor, which is why these three together are effectively the subscription — and why handing them to somebody outside the household is handing over the subscription rather than sharing it.
Enter the address with more care than the rest
Protocol at the front, port at the end, nothing after: http://example.com:8080. If a login fails and you can only check one field, check this one. Across every platform on this site it is responsible for more failures than the username and password combined.
Type the name and password rather than pasting
Both are case sensitive. Pasting from a messaging app attaches invisible whitespace remarkably often, producing a rejection indistinguishable from a wrong password. Typing them by hand once settles the question in either direction and takes twenty seconds.
Now use them everywhere, deliberately
This is the payoff. Lounge, bedroom, laptop, two phones — identical values each time, about two minutes apiece. The tier governs how many play at once, not how many are configured, so leaving a screen unconfigured saves nothing and costs you the moment somebody wants it.
Put them somewhere the household can reach
Not only in a chat thread, where they will sit under four hundred later messages exactly when somebody wants to add a tablet. A password manager, or a note on a shared device. With them to hand, adding a screen is under a minute; without them it is a support conversation.
Common errors and fixes
The player only wants a playlist
Some older software never learned this format. Use the M3U link from the same message, which wraps the identical account differently — the playlist page explains what you give up by going that way. Where both options exist, there is no reason to choose the playlist.
It all looks correct and is still refused
Type all three by hand, slowly, once. Copying from chat brings trailing whitespace along more often than anybody expects and nothing on screen reveals it. A carefully typed entry that is still refused is the point at which asking whether the line is active becomes reasonable.
Working yesterday, not today
Check the expiry first, because a plan reaching its end produces precisely this and requires nothing reinstalled. Renewing restores the identical values within minutes, and every screen's favourites survive untouched.
One device is permanently the unlucky one
If the same screen is always refused, it is very likely simply the last to be switched on. The tier rejects the newest stream, so the symptom attaches itself to whichever television starts last. Change the order and watch the problem move to a different room.

Xtream Codes login IPTV FAQ
Is the format legal?
It is a convention for passing an address, a name and a password, and mainstream apps in every app store use it. Nothing about it is restricted. The question with legal weight is whether a given service holds rights to what it distributes — about companies rather than formats — and our legality article treats that properly.
Can the password be changed?
Ask support and a new one is issued. Worth doing if the credentials ever left the household, since whoever holds them holds the subscription and nothing stands behind them. Bear in mind every screen then needs re-entering.
Can two households share one line?
The credentials would technically work, but the simultaneous limit exposes it quickly and the terms treat one line as one household. Accounts found shared beyond that are closed without refund. Where two households genuinely want to split something, the higher tiers still cost less than most single platform subscriptions.
What happens if we stop?
The line ends with the paid term and the values stop working. Records are kept for twelve months so a return can reuse the same credentials, then deleted. The privacy page carries the full retention schedule and how to have them removed sooner.
Do I need to understand this to use the service?
No, and most subscribers never think about it again after the first evening. It is worth three minutes for one reason: when a second television refuses to sign in six months from now, knowing which of the three values is likely wrong turns a support message into a ten-second fix. It is nearly always the server address.
Where should the household keep the credentials?
A password manager if you use one, or a note on a phone if you do not. Anywhere except only in a chat thread, which is where they will be buried under several hundred messages precisely when somebody wants to add the tablet. Adding a screen takes under a minute with them to hand and a support exchange without.
Does the same login work with another provider's app?
It works in any player that speaks Xtream, which is nearly all of them, and that is the point of the format. It does not work against another provider's service — the credentials are ours. The portability is about software rather than suppliers, and it means changing your mind later costs you no apps and no setup.
How many screens can hold the credentials at once?
Any number. There is no registration step and nothing counts installations, which is why a household can put the same three values on eight devices without anybody noticing. The only counter that exists is how many are playing simultaneously, and it is checked at the moment a stream starts rather than when an app signs in.
