IPVARIO – One IPTV Line for a Household That Never Agrees

MAG and Formuler: Hardware for the Main Television

This is the only device on the site you would buy specifically for this, and it belongs in exactly one place: the television your household watches most. MAG units from Infomir and Formuler boxes were built for streaming and nothing else, which is why they feel steadier than a stick doing a job it was adapted to. They also carry an ethernet socket, which matters more in a busy house than any other specification. Neither takes an ordinary app login — a MAG runs from a portal bound to its MAC, and Formuler goes through MyTVOnline.

What you need

  • A MAG 3xx, 4xx or 5xx, or a Formuler Z8, Z10 or Z11
  • The MAC address from the label underneath
  • The portal URL we send once you share that MAC
  • Eight minutes, much of it waiting for a restart

Step-by-step setup

  1. Send us the MAC and wait for confirmation

It is printed underneath and also shown under Settings, About device; on a MAG it starts 00:1A:79. Send it on WhatsApp and stop there until we confirm. Every subsequent step depends on that activation, and doing them early produces an error that appears to describe something else entirely.

  2. Claim the ethernet socket for this box

Do this before configuring anything, while you are behind the television anyway. This is the screen that must never stutter when three people are watching, and a cable removes the single largest cause of complaints. Nothing in software compensates for weak wifi as effectively as a two-dollar cable.

  3. MAG: enter the portal, then restart

Settings, System settings, Servers, Portals. Name Portal 1 anything, paste the address we sent, save, restart. It will not work before that restart and what you see meanwhile looks convincingly like failure. Restart first, diagnose second — in that order it is rarely necessary to diagnose at all.

  4. Formuler: MyTVOnline, or skip the portal entirely

Open MyTVOnline 2 or 3, choose Add Portal, supply a name and the address. Or pick Xtream Codes and use the standard three credentials, which is simpler if you have them. Formuler will also run Android players including TiViMate — and that flexibility is the main reason to choose a Formuler over a MAG in the first place.

  5. Put the same account on a phone as well

Even with a dedicated box on the main television, add the credentials to a phone. It costs two minutes and gives you somewhere to check a channel without interrupting whoever is watching — which on a single-screen plan you cannot do, and which is one of the small reasons households end up on two.

  6. Let it load and learn the coloured keys

After the restart the box pulls the 25,000+ channels with its built-in guide. The coloured remote buttons drive favourites and the EPG, and a MAG remote does this genuinely better than anything bundled with a streaming stick. Build a row of thirty or forty before forming a view of the interface.

  7. Leave the rest of the house on sticks

One good box on the main television, thirty-dollar sticks everywhere else, all on the same account. That is where households who buy a MAG almost always end up, and knowing it now may stop you buying a second one at $150 for a room that gets two hours of use a week.

Common errors and fixes

STB blocked, or a blank screen

Either the MAC is not activated yet or a character went astray on its way to us. Photograph the label and send the picture instead of retyping — that resolves it within minutes almost every time, because it removes the one variable neither of us can see.

It worked, then a power cut killed it

MAG units sometimes lose the portal entry when power goes unexpectedly. Re-enter it under Settings, System settings, Servers, Portals and restart. Your activation is untouched, so there is nothing to ask us for and nothing to pay again.

Formuler wants a portal and I have credentials

Use the Xtream option instead; MyTVOnline offers both on the same screen. The portal route exists for MAG hardware. On a Formuler it is one option among several and not the one to choose unless we specifically sent you a portal address.

The guide redraws slowly

On older MAG models a very large channel list taxes the interface. Hiding unwatched categories makes a visible difference and is the same advice that makes any of this pleasant. On a 3xx series the hardware is genuinely old and no setting will make it feel otherwise.

MAG and Formuler box IPTV FAQ

Better than a Firestick?

On a main television watched daily — yes. Better remote, faster guide, an ethernet socket, and nothing ever to sideload. It costs $120 to $180 against $30 to $50. On a bedroom set the stick wins on value and nobody notices the difference.

One for every room?

No, and saying so costs us money. One good box where it counts, sticks elsewhere. A hundred and fifty dollars spent on a spare-room screen would be better put toward a higher tier, or simply not spent at all.

Buy before or after the trial?

After, always. Run the trial on hardware you already own. Buying a box to answer a question a Firestick answers for nothing is a hundred and fifty dollars spent in the wrong order.

Why the MAC address?

Because the portal binds your line to that specific box rather than to an account you log into — it is how Infomir designed the platform. The practical consequence is that replacing the box means sending us a new MAC. A two-minute job, but worth knowing before you buy a second.

Can the box be moved to another house?

Yes, since the portal follows the MAC rather than a location. Take it with you, connect it, and it works. What does not follow you is anything your internet provider was doing locally — a connection fine in one house may behave differently in another, worth remembering before concluding the box developed a fault during the move.

Which model should I buy if I am buying one?

A Formuler Z11 Pro Max if you want Android players available alongside the portal, which most people eventually do. A MAG 540 if you want the simplest possible appliance and no app store at all. Both sit in the $120 to $180 range. Neither is worth buying before a trial has told you the household wants this daily.

Does the box need its own connection?

It uses your existing one like anything else. What it has that a stick does not is an ethernet socket, which is the whole reason to prefer it on a main television in a busy house.

What happens when the box is replaced?

Send us the new MAC and the portal is moved across, usually within the hour. Nothing about your subscription changes and there is nothing to pay again. It is worth keeping in mind before buying a second box, though: each one needs activating, whereas a stick needs only the same three credentials typed in.
